When I came into his arms that day when I heard his voice that first time after I arrived here, all those times when we spent time together, every time I saw that beautiful smile and the sparkles in his eyes.
Now he's the most powerful werewolf in the world, and I have to stay with him because I'm carrying his child.
My mother will surely hate me, and probably my father too, they are always against Adrian because of what he did.
Even though I've never met them before today, I know that they're the most ruthless people in the world, and they always do their dirty work, no matter what.
They will hate me for what I am now, and I don't know what will happen tomorrow, I don't know if it's true that Adrian loves me, or if I'm just imagining it all.
I want to ask him about my pregnancy and whether I should keep it or not, but somehow I would like to avoid saying that out loud.
Because if he decides not to marry me, I know he would never want to be with me anymore, and I don't want him to leave me because of that, I love him so much that I would like to be with him always.
I'm afraid that he will leave me and never come back to me.
The sun is shining brightly outside, and I wake up from my nap feeling more relaxed than ever before.
"Good morning, Aurora!” Vincent comes to me.
“How long did you stay with me last night?”
“Only three hours, but I slept on the couch, it's so warm in your room.”
“Oh! You should sleep here tonight, you can have my bed.”
“No, thanks, I don't mean to disturb you, you're sick, and you need your rest.”
I feel guilty about Vincent staying here the past few days, but I was too scared to go back home because I'm afraid that my parents will find out.
“I'm sorry, I should have asked you first.”
“Don't apologize, Aurora. I promise you that you'll feel better and that I'm right there by your side the whole time, I'll be the angel I promised you.”
He says and caresses my face slowly and gently.
He looks at me like a lover, but I don't like that.
“I'll make you some coffee. I'm sure that you'll need it.”
He goes downstairs, and I feel a bit sad about him leaving me alone, I miss him and I want him to hold me.
But I have to hide it from him and I have to wait until later.
After Vincent left I looked outside my window and noticed that the rain has stopped, I get dressed quickly and go outside to meet Vincent who was waiting for me.
“Hey, you ready to go?”
“Yes, let's go.”
We enter the elevator and I press the button for the first floor, we walk outside the building, and then we enter Vincent's car.
After a little drive, we arrive at my house.
“This is where you'll be living now.”
I tell him smiling.
“Thank you for letting me come here with you.”
“It's okay, I enjoyed your company.”
“So, how much do I owe you for the room?”
“Nothing, don't worry about it.”
He kisses me once again and tells me that he will wait for me at my home and that he'll pick me up after dinner.
I don't know what Vincent wants from me, But I think he was intensely attracted to me.
This makes me confused because he was Adrian's most trusted beta, but why did he do this to me?
And Adrian said if I was his mate, he would never hurt me, so he must be trying to protect me from other people, and maybe he's protecting himself from being rejected.
I hope it was because he loves me more than anything, and he doesn't want me to get hurt because of his enemies.
As soon as I reach home, I see Vincent sitting at the table looking at me, he doesn't look angry, which means that everything turned out alright and that he still thinks I was worth saving.
“How did you sleep?”
“Pretty well.”
He smiles at me happily, and I decide to ignore the tension and ask him about what happened earlier this morning.
“Are you ok? Why did you try to attack Adrian?”
He frowns and puts the mug of coffee down.
“There were too many people at that place, and I couldn't help myself.”
“You were defending me.”
“Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that Adrian had been threatening you. What happened after that?”
“I tried to run away, but I lost my balance and fell, and then Adrian came to check on me.”
“That's why Adrian wants to keep you safe, Aurora. If you were hurt, that would mean trouble for us.”
I nod at what he said.
“Do you have a plan?”
“Yes. The plan is to convince the other alphas that they should start the war, they should send all of their forces to our territory, and then all of them should attack each other. It's the only way to make a peace between us.”
“That might work. And you think that Adrian will accept this?”
“He will if he knows that we can unite the packs peacefully.”
I nod at him again.
“Alright. Then what happens next?”
“The first thing we need to do is to convince the others, and then we'll have to choose a leader among the packs.”
“Who would that be?”
“Well…”
“Tell me.”
“I was thinking about you.”
“Me?” I gasp in surprise, “What makes you think I'm the best candidate?”
“I don't know,”
“Then what about my family and other members of the pack.”
“There is no one else that could lead our pack.”
“What about you? You're an alpha, but you haven't ruled since Adrian took over the leadership.”
“If I'm going to rule the pack, then I will lead from a very young age. I'll be an adult by the end of the year.”
“That doesn't sound like you.”
“I'm serious. I won't give Adrian control. He is the king, the heir to the throne, and I will be with him for eternity. I want to share his happiness and pain.”
