*Scarlett's POV*

I tried, I seriously tried to concentrate, but it was nearly impossible. Alexander had finished his conversation with Katrina, and now he acted as if nothing had happened, calmly taking his seat. However, I couldn't stop the thoughts from swirling in my mind, replaying their conversation and the softness in his voice that I had never heard before, at least not when he spoke to me.

Does he love her? I couldn't say for sure, as I couldn't seem to read him properly. But didn't he tell me that she was just a fling? I thought back to the words he had once spoken, the ones...
