*Scarlett's POV*

I watched as Alexander walked out of the front door, his stern expression never wavering. It seemed like he was always a step away from showing any warmth toward me. Despite living under the same roof, there was an invisible wall between us that I couldn't break down. But today, things were different. He had given me a rare day off from work, and I found myself alone in the house with Tonia and the twins.
