Astor and Charlotte moved through the crowd, the tension from earlier slowly began to dissipate.

“Are all your parties this... intense?” Charlotte asked.

“Not always,” Astor said.

“Just when your family’s involved?”

Astor smirked. “Pretty much.”

Charlotte chuckled softly, though her mind was still racing from the encounter with Susan.

“Stay close,” Astor said suddenly, his tone serious.

Charlotte frowned. “What’s wrong?”

“Just trust me,” he said.

Charlotte nodded, as they moved, she noticed Susan's stare, it felt like she has been staring at her the whole time.
