The Uncovery

"Are you sure you want to see what’s on it?" Elaine asked cautiously, clearly concerned about what they might uncover.

"What if it’s something you’re not ready for?"

Charlotte didn’t answer immediately. She just stared at the small device, her heart pounding.

The idea of the dash-cam recording something from the day her mother had died, it felt like a dagger to her soul. But at the same time, she needed to see the content in it.

"I have to see it," Charlotte said firmly, her voice almost hollow. "I have to know what happened."
