As I adjusted to my surroundings, I found Julie next to me, sleeping. Dawn light filtered through the window. I tried to roll out of bed, but my hand was restrained by an IV tube attached to the back of my hand and a beeping machine monitoring me. My hand instinctively went to my baby bump, caressing it gently.
