This was what I wanted and it was about to happen. I suddenly felt a spike of excitement as my heart raced with pure adrenaline.

I looked around the empty patio, my breathing coming out short and fast.

"Is there anyone else in the house, Arnold?" I asked, my voice barely above a breathless whisper.
