As I watched Scott walk out of the kitchen, a wave of confusion washed over me. I had always believed that Fiona was the one who cared deeply for Scott, but now it seemed that the situation had reversed.

 I couldn't help but ponder why Scott suddenly seemed so invested in Fiona.

Lost in my thoughts, I questioned whether I was probably overthinking things. Perhaps I was reading too much into the situation, and there was a simple explanation for Scott's behavior. 

I knew that assumptions could often lead to misunderstandings, and it was possible that I was jumping to conclusions without all the facts.
