Grateful

Julie finally got to her feet and I followed suit. She enveloped me in a tight hug, which I returned immediately.

We stood that way for a while, before she finally stepped back.

"Thank you Verena, I needed that. I can't even begin to express my gratitude. You're right, I've taken too long already. I'm going to talk to him." She gave me a small smile and she started to walk out of the kitchen.

I watched as she made her way to the living room, where Nate was sitting with his head buried in his hands.
