Marcus POV:

On the other side of the WhiteVale forest, the wind carried a sound that sliced through the air like a cursed blade, a silent procession of werewolves froze mid-step.

Marcus Raven, alpha of the Raven wolves and self-proclaimed lord of the world, had stopped moving.

The wolves behind him could not hear the howl, but their Alpha’s unexpected stop had made them all freeze in shock.

They dared not speak.

Marcus didn’t either.

His brows furrowed as he turned around and looked deep into the woods – towards the spot he suspected the howl came from.

The sound still lingered in his ears; it wasn’t one, but two...
