Ardan had just announced his plan to take us to a rogue pack for safety, and Zone was not having it.

“You want us to stay with rogues?” Zone spat as his eyes blazed with disbelief. “They’re supposed to be captured or killed, not befriended.”

Ardan’s jaw tightened and his patience was visibly thinning. “Not all rogues are alike, Zone. Some are decent. They don’t all live by the bloodthirsty code you think they do.”
