Anne sat in a large velvet armchair in Eden’s room. She had been supervising the bride’s preparations since the morning, and Eden suspected she was enjoying it a little too much.
If only she could have had a little fun, too!

Eden starred in disgust at the cold meat and fruit that had been placed on a tray in front of her. She hoped Aunt Anne would blame her lack of appetite on nervousness, not morning sickness.
That said, her nerves were so bad that Eden had hardly slept all night.
