‘‘Celestine!’’ Cynthia let out a high-pitched squeal the moment I opened the door to our bedroom.

‘‘Where have you been throughout these last days?’’ Arnold who suddenly appeared behind Cynthia, queried to his sister with a scowl, and I bit my lip to avoid his deep gaze as it turned to me.
