Alyssa was in her room when she heard a knock. She stared at the door intently, trying to ascertain if she was expecting any visitor at this time of the day. Just as she thought, a note slipped into the room from the opening below the door.

This heightened her interest and immediately, she jerked to her feet and walked towards the door. 

She picked up the note and made to read it when she decided to catch a glimpse of who might have dropped it.

She quickly opened the door, but just as she had thought, the person was nowhere in sight.
