I waited along the hallway after Ren went to speak with the doctor about the arrangement to deposit Dad's body in the morgue. I couldn't deny the excitement I felt even amid the pain when I heard he was coming over. We hadn't talked in a week after the incident at the hotel, and since he said he was going to give up, I thought he already went back. I thought I was going to wallow in pain alone without anyone there for me, but when I realized that he was still here, I was elated.
