(Lily’s POV)

The front door clicked shut at 1:47 a.m.

I was already sitting on the edge of the couch in the dark living room, phone face-down on the cushion beside me, knees drawn up under one of his old hoodies. The hoodie still smelled faintly like him clean soap and the cologne I bought him last Christmas but the scent felt like a lie tonight.
