Chapter Two

My eyes were glued to Daisy’s phone, widening in disbelief. The video was shaky but clear enough her friend Mia, the same girl who always wore pastel cardigans and talked about waiting for the “right person,” was bent over a park bench at night. Some guy I didn’t recognize had her skirt hiked up, thrusting into her hard while she moaned loud enough for the microphone to catch every gasp. Someone had secretly recorded it. The angle suggested it was from the shadows, like a cruel prank.

“Oh my god, Daisy…” I whispered, my voice shaky. “That’s Mia? No way.”
