Close Calls

I woke up the next morning with Sage still lingering in my thoughts. The memory of her hand on my waist, the way her body had moved against mine in that crowded bus it followed me through my morning coffee and into my freelance deadline crunch. By evening, I found myself on the same bus route again, heart beating a little faster as I scanned the passengers. Part of me hoped she’d be there. The other part scolded me for getting worked up over a stranger.
