I barely slept. Every time I closed my eyes I felt the trampoline still bouncing under me and heard that low voice telling me tomorrow would be harder. When the sky finally lightened I forced myself out of the narrow bed in the room he’d assigned me. The black training set waited folded on the chair like a reminder that nothing here belonged to me.
