I jolted awake, my heart racing like crazy. Where was I? The beeping machines surrounding me were clueless, but the figure rushing towards me was familiar - our pack doctor.

Although my memories were hazy, I was eager to know what had happened.

"You lost consciousness after your wolves injected you with wolfsbane," the doctor explained. "You've been here for a week, and now that you're awake, the pain should be gone."

As I tried to break free, the machines started beeping erratically.

The doctor rushed to calm me down. "Alpha Marcus, you need to relax. There's already a Beta ruling your pack."
