Every wolf in the area scurried for cover as a majestic, golden-furred wolf descended upon us. Its tall, menacing stance dared us to make a move. I turned to Ava, but she was busy unpacking something.

"This is wolfsbane," she said, approaching the wolf. "I think it'll help her."

"That's not Emily. You should've asked me before taking any action." I yanked her back, my eyes wide with frustration.
