I should have guessed what Parker was up to.

He was jealous of Lawrence, hated Lawrence's excellence, so he wanted to take what belonged to him, and that included me.

He didn't like me. The only reason that made him interested in me was because I was Lawrence's wife, so he wanted to steal me.

He wanted to use this to prove that he was better than Lawrence.

That sounded crazy. But that was my reality at the moment. Being fought over as if I were a piece of trophy.

I looked Parker in the eyes and replied sternly, "Parker, I'm not interested in what happened to you....
