The door flew open just as Jaxon’s face was an inch from mine.

Kendra’s voice cut through the air like a whip. My whole body froze. She stood there with Ezra and Caleb right behind her, all three of them staring like they just walked in on the finale of a bad teen drama.

“Unbelievable,” Kendra said, folding her arms. “You two are actually insane.”
