My phone kept vibrating where it had fallen on the car floor, but I didn’t touch it.
Didn’t even look at it again.
I pressed my back deeper into the seat and stared straight ahead, pretending I didn’t hear anything.
Mum noticed, of course.
“Sienna,” she said quietly, “is that your father calling you?”
I kept my voice low.
“I don’t want to talk to him.”
Before she could respond, her own phone lit up on the dashboard screen.
