A soft knock dragged me out of sleep.
For a moment I forgot where I was.
Forgot what happened.
Forgot the chaos that led us here.
Then my mum’s voice came through the door.
“Sienna. Wake up. We need to leave early.”
My eyes shot open.
Early?
I sat up, pushing my hair back. “Mum? What’s going on?”
She opened the door halfway, still in her travel sweater, hair tied up, eyes alert like she’d barely slept.
“We’re leaving in twenty minutes,” she said. “Liana needs to get to the airport, and… I want us home before noon.”
Right. Liana’s flight.
