The ride to Alexander's estate was silent, save the music that was being played by Damien. I couldn't help but notice that there was tension between Chelsea and Damien and I made a mental note to ask her about it later.

Alexander held me close to his chest and constantly gave me forehead kisses. I wasn't sure if the forehead kisses were supposed to comfort me or if it was a way of assuring himself that I wasn't going anywhere.
