I hit the ground hard, the impact sending a shockwave of pain through my body.

I couldn’t feel my legs.

I blinked, trying to force myself to focus, the ground was cold beneath my knees and my eyes felt like I was dizzy . Blood dripped from the gashes on my arms, staining the earth as I clutched my side, trying to breathe through the pain.
