Arthur Mitchell took a deep breath and put his finger on my face. With a smile, he said, "promise me not to cry in the future. When Theresa comes back, if you still want to marry me, I will still give you a wedding."

I shook my head in a hurry and said in a hoarse voice, "... Don't wait for me. I don't deserve you. I'm sorry."

Except for apologizing again and again, I don't think there is anything that can ease my guilt. I feel ashamed of what Arthur Mitchell has done. How dare I expect his warmth?
