"Good evening, Miss Beatrice," Chole and Kristin greeted in unison as they stepped into Stefan’s mansion. Stefan had given Chole an early leave so they could visit Dorothy.

"Hello, dears," Beatrice smiled warmly at them. "She’s awake now. I’m just making her a quick snack. If you'd care for some, I can—"

"It’s okay, ma’am. We’ll go say hi to Dorothy," Kristin cut in politely, but Chole nudged her shoulder.

"Speak for yourself. I care for some snacks," Chole muttered loudly enough for Beatrice to hear.
