Two days later

Someone knocked on the door repeatedly, the sound growing louder every second. Clarissa was getting sick of it. She slipped on her expensive dress and sunglasses before going to open the door. Standing at the doorstep were two unfamiliar men accompanied by the family butler.

"Miss Clarissa, I'm surprised you and your mother are still here. I expected you both to have packed up by now," the butler said.

Clarissa burst out laughing. "You were serious about giving this house to charity?" Her expression made it clear she didn’t believe him.
