I stood between Soraya and the crowd with my fists clenched at my sides. The anger rolling off the pack was thick enough to choke on but I refused to back down. They wanted her gone and I was not going to let that happen.

"Listen to me," I said loudly so everyone could hear. "Soraya is under my protection. Anyone who threatens her will answer to me directly. Do you all understand that?"

Thomas stepped forward and crossed his arms. "We understand Alpha but that does not change the fact that she is dangerous. We all saw what she became at the fortress. She is not normal."...
