Another day at school. Another day pretending everything was fine when it wasn’t.

I felt so gloomy I could hardly focus on anything. It had been a week since Darius left, and there was still no call, no text, nothing. I didn’t know what his condition was or where he was. I kept imagining the worst, that he was hurt, that something bad had happened and yet here I was, eating, sleeping, going to lectures like everything was normal. It made me feel helpless and hopeless.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Amber and Lily seemed to have made it their new life mission to make my days...
