Since my wolf couldn’t help, I didn’t hesitate. I reached for her, wrapping my arms around her trembling form.
The moment our skin touched, a shock of energy jolted through me, but I held on.
“Scarlett,” I murmured, pressing my forehead to hers. “Come back to me, darling.”
Her body convulsed once, twice, then she went completely still.
