At the crack of dawn, Cynthia had struggled her way out of bed. She ruffled her hair a bit so she wouldn't be recognized before stepping out of her ward sneakily.
As she passed the corner of her ward's hallway, a smooth feminine voice stopped her. Her heart sank to the pit of her stomach.
