He checks the table and soon catches a glimpse of it inside a drawer.

Kent groaned as Davis pulled it open and handed Roxy her purse. Her eyes were filled with gratification as she took the bag from him. She knew what it would have been if he hadn't seen it.

"I wonder how it got in here, " Roxy muttered to herself, turning away. She suspected somebody must have moved it there.

This isn't her house and it made no sense that she had placed that purse in the drawer herself.
