The bracelet was still warm against my skin, like it carried the heat of his hand. I turned my wrist slightly, watching the silver wolf’s head catch the light, simple but solid. Strong. Heavy. Like him.
Kael had fallen quiet after kissing me, his breath steady but his eyes still burning. He sat close enough that his thigh pressed against mine, and even that small contact felt like too much and not enough at once.
I couldn’t stop touching the bracelet. My fingers brushed the leather again and again, as if doing so would help me understand why it made my chest ache.
