Gary heard a knock on his door and he went to open it. He came face to face with Lisa’s worried face.

She cupped his chin as her gaze travelled about his face. He slapped her hands off and she looked at him with a hurt expression.

“Are you okay?” She asked, trying to swallow the lump in her throat. “Did they hurt you?”
