My back hurriedly peeled off the wall and eagerness ran through my mind as the doctor and Mr. Powers exited Ruby’s room.

They were yet to fill me in on what was going on. Even as they walked out, they ignored me and approached the stairs. Once all that was left of their presence was their scents, I entered Ruby’s room.
