We arrived at Aaron's house eventually and he pulled into the driveway. After my outburst in the car I'd remained pretty much silent and Aaron hadn't even initiated a conversation but I could see him glancing at me every few seconds.

I'd been in Aaron's house —once. And I'd swore to myself never to step foot in his house again, because well, I and Rhoda had crashed his birthday party and it didn't turn out well at all. But here I am again, eating my own words.
