  I pushed the front door open quietly, expecting the house to be empty since my brother was out with his buddies for the weekend. 

  The living room was dim, just the glow from the TV flickering against the walls, and there he was, Michael, sprawled on the couch like he owned the place.

  His back was to me, legs spread wide, one hand gripping his phone so tight his knuckles looked white. Low moans spilled from the speakers, some woman gasping and begging in that fake porn voice, but Michael didn’t notice me at all.
