Mercy’s POV

The rain hammered against the dorm common room windows, turning the outside world into a blurry mess while we all huddled inside, feeling that mix of warmth and restlessness from being stuck together on a Saturday night.

Nobody had any real plans to venture out in that downpour, so we ended up sprawled across the worn-out couches and floor cushions, passing around bottles of cheap vodka and tequila that burned going down but loosened everyone up quick.
