Eyes so cold peered into mine, my heart beating erratically, so hard it rattled my ribs.

"I'm his," the words, the claim. The dominance had me confused.

One minute, he is acting all charming like my knight in shining armor dealing with Shaun for slapping me.

Like I was something worth protecting. The next, he's back acting all vicious and brutal, a predator playing with his prey.

My lashes flutters staring into his eyes. His looks were different. Cold?Yes. Dark? Absolutely. But hate? No.

That had been replaced by something else. Something I couldn't name, something that sent a shiver down my spine.

A knock at the door...
