The alpha's expression turned confused. "Excuse me, I don't understand you?" he asked, interrupting the beta.
I just stared at them as they spoke.
The beta hesitated, looking at me before turning back to the alpha. "They're asking for the land near the old oak tree of your grandparents, my alpha," he said slowly.
The alpha's expression changed, his eyes narrowing. "The old oak tree?" he repeated. "That's a sacred site for our pack. Why would they want that land?"
The beta shook his head. "I don't know, my alpha. But they seemed really insistent on getting that land. They said it was essential for their farming."
