I took in Jennifer’s pale face on the bed. My hands clenched around my phone in anger.

How could Leah do this? How dare she?

Anytime I thought something was getting better between us, she went and did something like this.

“Ethan,” Jennifer's throaty voice called out to me.

I watched as she struggled weakly to sit up on the bed.

“What do you need, Jennifer? Go back to sleep,” I commanded her.
