Returning to my car once the sun started to dip, she held my hand as I drove us back to her apartment. "I feel safe with you," she said as we walked towards the door of the block. That was a slightly curious thing to say, at least to my ears, bringing me to a stop. She turned and looked at me. "I already feel safe in your arms, Mark. Girls like me, we need that."
I scratched my head. "Girls like you? What do you mean?"
She took my hand. "We'll go upstairs and talk. Will you want anything to eat later?"
"I'm still pretty full up."
