“I’m done collecting the payment,” Brielle announced.

“It took fifteen minutes. That was quicker than I thought,” River commented while looking at his wrist watch.

Brielle was pinching her palm as her cloudy eyes blankly stared into a space.

“You’ve always had beautiful memories, Daniel. That’s why I love looking into them. Most of the time, they remind me of the memories we once had. That was the only thing that remained the same. But now… they’re different,” Brielle said in a soft voice.

I stood up, keeping my eyes on her.

“A lot of things have changed over the years, Brielle. I’m not the same person anymore. And...
