LYRA'S P.O.V.

I woke up to Zeph crying out loudly, and I looked to see that he had his leg stuck beneath the bed. How did it even get there?

I pulled it out after so much struggle and pulled his leg out only for me to see him not only covered in bruises on his leg but his arms as well

“Where did you get these?” I took a hand towel to clean the blood that trailed down his leg.

“I… I went to get water downstairs, and he pushed me” He cried, and I paused to look at him.

“He pushed you? Who pushed you?”

“A guard....
