She crossed over the rails. It wasn’t that much of a jump but still the fear was there.

“Go ahead and do it” he said bored and he did so.

She took a deep breath and just did it. Falling forward instead of actually jumping in. It didn’t hurt as much. When she emerged it was to his laughter.

“I can guess that you have never done something like that before” he said in between bouts of laughter. “There’s a first time for everything. And you failed spectacularly” he hadn’t stopped laughing. She splashed him in the face with salty water and slicked her hair back.
