Miriam’s POV

Anita was with Trevor. Unfortunately, Rosodov had been unable to save her from him. The news hit us all pretty hard.

“How did you leave unscathed?” I asked as I watched the nurse clean up his wounds.

“That’s not what we’re supposed to be talking about right now. Do you know how mad I am at you all? You put your life in danger!”

“We were only doing what we thought was best. Anita was very unhappy where she was. My conscience wouldn’t allow me to leave her there as my son’s prisoner.”
