When Victor asked me to come back to the mountain house, I almost said no.
Part of me wanted to leave everything behind the memories, the tension, the confusing pull between us. But another part… the part that still remembered the rain and the look in his eyes that night couldn’t say no.
So I went.
The drive felt longer this time. The roads twisted around the cliffs, fog curling low over the trees. When the house finally appeared, all glass and silence, I felt my heartbeat quicken.
